Video on Twitter is Getting Easier

Denise Wakeman 12 second video Sometimes 140 characters is just not enough. Sometimes you need to connect with your followers in a more intimate way. That's where the power of video comes in.

Over on Build a Better Blog, I've been writing about using video on your blog. But what about twitter? More and more tools are popping up that make it simple to post your videos on your twitter stream.

A new one I just found out about is Twitvid.io which I read about on Twitip.com. You may remember that I did a series of 12 second videos some time back. What I like about Twitvid.io though is that you're not limited to 12 seconds. You can record a video straight from your webcam on the site or you can upload a video. Then, the link to your video is automatically tweeted out to your followers.

There's also Twitvid that does much the same thing and uploads your video to YouTube at the same time, if you choose. YouTube also now includes the option to automatically tweet your video uploads and post to your Facebook profile.

For efficiency's sake, I use Tube Mogul to upload and distribute my videos to multiple video sites AND I have my blip.tv account set up to then automatically post the video on my video blog AND to twitter. So it's one stop job.

So many options. Pick the one you like best or feel most comfortable using and go for it. If you know of other twitter/video sites (and I'm sure there are more!), post them here in the comments so we all can benefit. Thanks!

Google Launches Web Elements for Your Blog

I got a heads up yesterday from a reporter for the San Jose Mercury News that Google was launching some new tools for bloggers today at their annual developers conference, and she wanted to ask my opinion after the announcement (today).  Never say "no" to a media interview, right?!

Google web elements So I did some snooping around and found the page for Google press releases and refreshed the page at the appointed time of 9:00 a.m. PT. Voila, there was the release right on schedule.

Among other announcements, here's what Google has launched for blogs and websites:

Sharing Photos on Twitter Just Got a Whole Lot More Powerful

It's been on my list for some time to write about how to share photos via Twitter. It's yet another way to build visibility and creates another way for people to relate and connect to you. And, when you share photos from events and conferences, you are reinforcing your credibility by association.

Mari Smith, Coach Deb Micek and Denise Wakeman @ BlogWorld Expo Mari Smith does this brilliantly. Everywhere she goes she makes sure to get photos with the presenters, organizers, her clients, and other influencers who are in attendance. Then she posts these photos on twitter, Facebook, flickr, her blog and anywhere else people will see them. As an observer, I see her connected to the movers and shakers not only in online marketing but in the media, etc. and know that she's got powerful connections and those associations give her more credibility. And that credibility gives her more opportunities and the cycle continues. You can do this too.

First, you need to take a lot of pictures and videos.

Online Video Gives You Online Visibility

Loresworkshop Did you watch my video about YouTube stats? The stats I quoted were from June 2008. I saw new stats recently, that indicates YouTube's growth is not slowing down. In the video I say there were 10 hours of video uploaded every minute. That number is now 15 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute!

YouTube is also the SECOND LARGEST SEARCH ENGINE. There are a lot of video distribution sites on the web, but if you're not posting video on YouTube, you are missing an opportunity to reach a bigger audience for whom your service is the solution to their problem.

On February 18, I'm teaching a class on how to do EASY video marketing for your business. Watch my video invitation and check out the bonuses Lou Bortone and I added for you...then register for the class so you can stay ahead of the curve and in front of your competitors.

Lou and I are excited about sharing tons of resources and tips and strategies for producing low cost video so you can get your message out to the world!
