What's Next? RSS Feeds

Now that Patsi and I have completed our ebook, Build a Better Blog System, my attention is turning to new Internet marketing technologies.  I've mentioned RSS feeds in previous posts, and truthfully, I understand them intuitively, but I still don't quite get how to create an RSS feed or set it up on a content-rich website other than a blog. 

Today, I found an article that can help me and others understand how to use this exciting new method of delivering content.  I'll keep you posted as I learn, experiment and implement RSS feeds.

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication as it is commonly known,is a technology that gives webmasters the ability to easily distribute and publish syndicated content on the Internet. It seems like all Internet businesses now have RSS feeds available; at least your competitors do. You have finally made the decision that you have to have one. Where do you start?

Official Launch of the Business Blog Center

It's official.  The press release goes out on Wednesday announcing the launch of the Business Blog Center at AllBusiness.com.  As mentioned before, the BBC features my new blog, Your Project Partner.

Many people seem to think that selling on the Internet is a complete mystery. Funny how we see the Net as its own entity instead of just another marketing channel.

When I meet people and they say they're going to start an "Internet business", I get worried. It's as if that's all they need to know -- not what they're selling or who their customers are. (I mean, when faxes first came out, did you hear people saying they were just starting a "fax business"? Not really.)

The Internet is just one type of media that can sell for your business, and it follows a sales cycle like any other. It's not magic ... it's a process.

But once you WORK that process, it CAN work like magic!

So let's look at the five basic parts of the Internet sales cycle:

Are You An Expert?

Do you publish a blog?  Are you an expert in a specific niche that is targeted at small business?

AllBusiness.com is looking for a few more experts to add to their brand new Blog Center. There is a small text ad on the Blog Center site that says "Blog for Us" with a link to a contact form.  If you think you have something valuable to share with small business owners and entrepreneurs, and your're a blogger, go for it! Whenever you can share your expertise, you're sure to attract new prospects and clients.

New Blog Alliance with AllBusiness.com

Awhile back I announced that I had been asked to be one of a few "experts" to have a blog on AllBusiness.com's new Blog Center.  That has now come to pass and the new Blog Center is live.  My blog is Your Project Partner: Internet Marketing Made Easy.

There may be some overlap in posts between this blog and the new blog and my intent is to use the YPP blog for more "how-to" info and resources, and this blog for more discussion about how and why internet marketing strategies are so important for solo professionals.
