The Internet: Ever Wondered What It Actually Is?

If you're like me, you didn't learn about computers or Internet marketing in school. Heck, when I went to school we used paper and pens - imagine writing a term paper that way!

(Trip down nostagia alley: remember your first typewriter?) Most people today are using computers and the Internet without really understanding it, mainly because we just learned by doing, clicking here, clicking there, crashing a few systems along the way, learning as we go.

So I am thrilled to find this source on the Web that explains what the Internet actually is, how it started, and how it works. Scot Finnie explains it all, if you go here to read his series of articles about everything Internet.

Here are some of the topics he discusses, worth the read:

1. What is the Internet?
2. How does the Net work?
3. What is the Web?
4. How does the Web work?
5. Who started the Net?
6. Who controls the Net?
7. How are online services different from the Web?
8. Why is the Web so slow?
9. Is the Net safe?
10. What is a search engine?

Chris Knight Reviews Our All-in-One Ezine Publishing System

We're very pleased that Christopher Knight of EzineArticles.com and EmailUniverse.com has reviewed our new product All-in-One Ezine Publishing System.

Being biased of course, I'd say his review is balanced and fair.  Check out Chris' review here.

aStore by Amazon is expanding

A few weeks ago I wrote about the debut of aStore by Amazon.com. Looks like it's been so successful that they're expanding the features which is good news.

I received an email today which listed some of what you can expect in the next month:

The next release of aStore (currently slated for a late November release) will allow Associates to:

  • Build and maintain multiple aStores using a single Associate ID
  • Specify products to feature on Category and Sub-Category pages
  • Create multiple instances of individual categories and sub-categories (e.g. Beatles Music and Rolling Stones Music)
  • Feature up to 54 products on the front page of your store rather than the current limit of nine
  • Write longer custom product descriptions
  • Better control the layout and design for use in frames by providing the capability to remove the store header and category navigation

You won't get rich with the Amazon.com Associate program, but heck, if you're going to be referring books, music, or products, you may as well get a small commission for doing it. You can check out The Blog Squad's store here.
