Article Marketing Teleseminar

A quick post to let you know that Jeff Herring, The Article Guy, is offering his very popular Article Writing and Article Marketing TeleSeminar for the last time this year.  I'm sure I've posted about this before: article marketing is a key online marketing practice and really does generate high quality traffic to your blog or website.  High quality traffic translates to more clients and customers over the long term.  It's a tactic Patis and I use on a regular basis.  We write and submit 3 to 6 new articles every month.

Here's info about the program:

Ideal Client Contest is Attracting Great People!

Wow is all I can say.  Yesterday we officially launched our Ideal Client Contest and the response has been terrific.  Blasts were sent out to our database and our colleague Joan Stewart put an item about it in her newsletter.  We've already received over 20 essay/applications with more than 30 people saying theirs is on the way.  Needless to say, whittling down to 5 finalists and then choosing one winner is going to be incredibly difficult.

If you want to be our Ideal Client and meet our criteria, don't wait.  Apply today.

Stay informed about the contest and the radio show at our show blog (you didn't expect anything less did you?).

Are you the Ideal Client?

It’s official: The search is on for our Ideal Client, and it could be you!

In January, we are launching an Internet radio talk show called Blogging and Beyond. Every week we will discuss new tools that are easy AND essential to implement in order to grow a business online. On the show we will interview Internet marketing experts, plus we will coach a client in real-time through the steps designed to market a real product or service.

That’s where you come in. You could be selected as our Ideal Client and get free marketing mentoring. You’ll learn how to optimize your blog AND how to implement simple online marketing tools.

We are having a contest to find the “Ideal Client” to mentor in real-time, on the air, during our 13 week pilot program. The contest opens today.

Internet Business IS Business

Thanks to Chris Mercer's post on Serial Reinvention, I was directed to an excellent article by Yuki Noguchi on washingtonpost.com called Mom-and-Pops, All Grown Up, about the stresses of running an Internet based business, whether it be on eBay or your own website.

As Internet shopping matures and enters its 12th holiday season, veteran eBay sellers are discovering what it takes to make a long-term career out of selling online. Internet sales have become as competitive as traditional retail but compounded by the furious pace of change on the Web.

It's interesting that in the minds of some people, an Internet business is somehow different from a "traditional" business.  But in my experience, that is not the case.  Business is business, whether you use the Internet or not.  Granted, marketing on the Internet does require some different skills and technology is evolving so quickly, it may seem difficult to keep up.

You still need to have a plan, need to market, provide customer service, provide a product or service that people want, make sales, make a profit, and stay on top of changes in your field.  The Internet is a business tool, and a powerful one at that.

EBay makes it vastly easier to set up your business, but beyond that, normal business rules apply...
