A week or so ago I read a post on Jessica Duquette's blog about selling one's books on Amazon. Frankly it had never occurred to me to do that, but I've been contemplating unloading some of my vast collection of books to make room for the new. I've got a couple of piles of business books next to my desk. And on shelves I have scores of art history books from my university days when I got a degree in art history. Jessica's post got me thinking.
Why don't I sell my books. Even if I only get a couple of bucks, I free up some shelf space, get a little fun money and someone gets a good deal. So, I set up a seller's account for Amazon's Marketplace.
When I started going through my books, I realized I had a lot of business books to pass on as well, some are duplicates, some were gifts and some I just won't ever read again. And then I thought, why not list them here so you can get a great deal if any of these books appeal to you.
Without further ado, here are the books I currently have listed on Amazon's Marketplace at very deep discounts:
Waiting for Your Cat to Bark: Persuading Customers When They Ignore Marketing by Bryan & Jeffrey Eisenberg
Art of the Start by Guy Kawasaki
Free Prize Inside by Seth Godin
Buffetology by Mary Buffett - SOLD
Lifescripts: What to Say to Get What You Want in 101 of Life's Toughest Situations by Stephen M. Pollan
Franklin covey Style Guide for Business & Technical Communication
The Ultimate Lead Generation Plan by Matt Bacak
Rich Dad's Prophecy, Robert T. Kiyosaki - SOLD
Leadership is an Art by Max DePree
Big Bucks: How to Make Serious Money for Both You and Your Company by Ken Blanchard
Great Game of Business by Jack Stack
JUST ADDED:
Journey to the Impossible: Designing an Extraordinary Life by Scott Jeffrey

Thanks, Denise! I just put my books up about 2 weeks ago, and I have already shipped off 5 out of 8 of them!
I have done eBay sales before, and Amazon marketplace is so much easier, it literally took me less than 5 minutes per book to list.
I am lucky, the post office in Topanga is never usually crowded, so that part is easy, too, but if you can pack up the books and weigh them to find out the postage necessary, you can buy the postage online and save yourself the trouble of the P.O. lines.
good luck on your sales, mine were mostly marketing books, too!

I've sold 3 books in less than 24 hours. Since I have a serious Amazon habit, it will be great to apply the credit to new books I want to check out.
I avoid the post office whenever possible. Since I ship out a lot of CDs and Build a Better blog books, I use netstamps so can buy postage online. You get a free scale when you sign up. See my post here: http://www.biztipsblog.com/2006/10/branding_tip_us.html

Great idea, Denise.
I, too, am overrun with books. Does selling them on Amazon seem to be a better deal than selling them to a place like Half-Price Books?
