Have you heard of Knol yet? I've seen the word floating around the blogosphere, the twitsphere and in various Internet marketing ezines. Today I finally checked out Knol after reading a brief post by John Jantch.
Knol appears to be Google's version of Wikipedia or an article directory on steroids may be another way to look at it. Google defines a Knol as "an authoritative articles on a specific topic."
Essentially Knol is a platform for sharing your content. AND, other authors can comment, review, and contribute to your content, like Wikipedia. But you control the contributions if you wish. You can set up your articles so any contributions are moderated.
Will there be any advantage to posting your content on Google's Knol?
Who knows yet, but it certainly can't hurt. Remember, you can't have too many lines in the pond if you want to attract new prospects to your business.
My suggestion? Set up your account (you must have a Google account), add your bio and start posting your articles. Of course it's a good idea to look around, and do a search on your key words and niche to see what else is there on your topic. Check out other bios too.
The random bios I clicked on were mostly missing the boat. Very little info, no links to their blog or website or social networking profiles. You've got an advantage right there if you just do that.
Got a story or info about Knol you'd like to share? Let us know in the comments.

Well we´ll see if it really can take the place of wikipedia. I find it interesting. Unfortunately not yet in our european languages as I can see.
