A quick follow up on my last post about 12seconds.tv. I've been using the 12 second videos to create micro tips about business blogging.
Cramming a tip into 12 seconds is a challenge and I've frequently had to reshoot videos to get them shorter. Here are a couple of tips that have helped me:
- Make a list of tips you want to record. Use your blog posts to come up with a list of content for your video tips.
- Know what you want to say, before you record. I start every video with "Hi, Denise here from The Blog Squad with a quick business blogging tip for you." Then I give the tip.
- Record tips in advance. Rather than logging in each day (videos are posted as soon as you record them and I don't want to post more than one per day), I'm recording 3 or 4 at a time and saving them on my computer.
- You can upload videos to 12seconds.tv. You are not limited to recording directly on the site.
- BEWARE: even when you upload a video, it cannot be longer than 12 seconds. I did one that is 13 seconds and it got cut off!
- Be consistent. By filming several tips at a time, I'm leveraging my time and it takes only a couple minutes each morning to upload a video on the 12seconds.tv site. Then it's immediately pushed out to my Twitter followers and to my Facebook status.
- There's no pitch in my tips, just a tip on how to get more out of your business blog.
- Post your tips on your blog to get more visibility!
Business Blogging Tip: Send Your Blog Posts to Twitter on 12seconds.tv

Denise, thanks for these tips about using 12seconds.tv. I've been doing tips for doing NaNoWriMo. However, I've gotten sidetracked and haven't posted more lately.
I have given up on doing an intro. It's doesn't leave me enough time for the tip. I've been checking yours out for hints on delivering a more concise message.
I also do several at a time. However, I've been leaving them on 12seconds and moving them over into my blog posts later.
Thanks for all your tips.
