You're reading this blog but are you blogging for your business yet?
Usually I post blog related content on Build a Better Blog, but blogs are also Internet marketing tools and I think it's worth a reminder that if you are not yet blogging as a way to boost your online visibility, build your credibility and attract more clients, then you're missing the marketing boat.
Yes, social networking on sites like Twitter and Facebook and LinkedIn are all the rage. But think about it. Those sites are like going to a party or networking meeting. You go, you mingle, you network, you build relationships. What happens when you want to go deeper? When you want to get to know someone better?
You go to lunch or dinner or you have a one on one meeting.
That's the purpose of your blog. It's your home base on the Web or the hub of your online presence.

Your blog is where you reinforce your brand, get feedback, build relationships, establish your credibility and thought leadership in your field, and it helps you be more "findable" by your ideal clients because the search engines LOVE the fresh content on blogs.
One thing I've come to realize over the last few months is that a blog is not an option anymore for service professionals, entrepreneurs and small business owners. It's a requirement if you want to be found by your ideal clients.
If you haven't started a blog yet, why not?
Too hard?
Don't know how?
Don't know where to start?
Believe me, it's not difficult and if you are armed with information, then you'll know how. When you're ready to start, you need to pick a blog platform, read this post to decide if TypePad or Wordpress is right for you. We recommend TypePad for most professionals and you'll learn why.
