Last week I asked my "tweeple" what newbies needed to know about how to use twitter for business. This week, I asked about Facebook. Based on the number of responses, I'd say people are currently more passionate about twitter since I got more responses!
Again, I was prepping for a class with our Massive Visibility Mentees, this time on the best practices of using Facebook for business. I've been using Facebook for a little over a year (started on January 1, 2008) and I learned from modeling the best, Mari Smith, dubbed "the Pied Piper of Facebook" by Fast Company Magazine.
If you're on Facebook, invite Mari to be your friend and then study her profile. And definitely subscribe to her blog, Why Facebook, and when you're ready to go deep and really master Facebook, sign on to Mari's Social Media Method program (formerly known as Facebook for Professionals).
OK, here are the responses I received via both Facebook and twitter:
Now it's your turn. What tips do you have for newbies who want to use Facebook for their business. Comment below.

Mari Smith is a great resource! She interviewed me twice once about how to use facebook effectively for networking/marketing, and second about how to build groups effectively.
Thanks for including me Denise! Love your blog!
Bottom line...Don't forget that there is a real person on the other side of the screen. Most people lose sight of this, and their behavior on the site shows...almost to the point where it is comical at some times.
Prime Example: The other day I got a group invite that said "The greatest compensation plan known to man..." I couldn't help but save the image to blog about it on my blog later.
