How I'm Using Social Media for My Big Five-0 Kiva Birthday Challenge

I'm four days in to my Big Five-0 Kiva Birthday Challenge and figure it's time for a brief update. I've done the math and in order to meet my goal of $5,000 in loans (at $25 per loan minimum), I need an average of 7 loans per day. That means as of this moment, I'm a bit behind and should have 28 loans by the end of today.  (Hint, hint!).

Current stats:

• 20 Member
• 22 Loans
• $625 raised
• 12.5% to goal

However, I have not sent out a blast to my email lists of approximately 10,000 people. I'm waiting on that until closer to my actual birthday so I can get some momentum around that day. I have sent personal emails to key people in my community inviting them to participate.

What's Your Biggest Challenge Around Creating an Online Presence?

Longtime readers know I frequently write about online presence, online visibility and how to manage your online brand. I'm currently working on a project that addresses the challenges of creating a positive and massive online presence and I got to wondering what your challenges are. I know there are issues around time, creating content and technology. But is that all? Do you know how to measure your online presence?

In Career Distinction, William Arruda calls this knowing your GQ (Google Quotient). You can use an online calculator to find out if you're "digitally distinct."

My Twitter ToolBox is a Helpful Resource

Everyday another tool is introduced to help you manage and use Twitter. Staying on top of the fads, the good stuff and the really, really useful stuff takes a lot of time and energy. So I was really happy to find a really great resource called My Twitter Toolbox. It's a 60+ page ebook with over 100 twitter tools listed including info about what it's for and a link to get the tool.

Having used twitter now for a couple of years, I know how much time it takes to keep up with the new tools and the hours it would take you to research and find what's included in this book. I'm impressed. I thought I was on top of what's out there but I certainly found a few new cool tools that I can put to good use and make my twitter experience more productive.

My Twitter Toolbox is only $7.77 (at the time of this blog post) so it's not going to set you back much and with that investment, you get all future updates. That's a steal in my book! If you're new to twitter, this ebook is an excellent complement to The Twitter Revolution by my friend and colleage @CoachDeb.
