How to Generate Lots of Buzz on Your Facebook Page

In the last couple of months I stumbled on a great way to generate a lot of activity and buzz on my Facebook page. In my post on 6 Ways to Engage Your Facebook Fans, #5 was about inviting your fans to share links.

5. Invite your fans to share links to their site/blog/fan page/twitter. My monthly Brag About Your Blog Day has become quite popular. Recently over 200 people bragged about and posted links to their blog. It was an awesome way to learn about what people are doing, what their interests are find potential JV partners and guest posting opportunities.

I just hosted another Brag About Your Blog Day and the results surpassed last month. Nearly 300 people posted links to their blog along with a short description about the topic of their blog.

Do You Have a Plan for Your Social Marketing?

Building a visible presence on the web takes not only consistent action, it also requires that you are constant...constant with your content production on all platforms. 

You know, if somebody lands on a site that has not been updated in a few weeks or months, it's like going into a shop with no stuff on the shelves, dirt on the floor and broken windows.

In order to stay constant, what do you do? You need to start with a plan. If you're haphazard about your activity it shows. So here are a couple of things to think about when developing your plan:

What is your message?

Who do you serve?

What do you want them to know about you and your business?

Once you have those questions answered you create a schedule and plot out how you're going to educate, entertain, and engage your community with your content.

Is your image on the Web consistent?

When you're building a platform on the Web with the intention to dominate your niche and become the go-to expert, you must present a consistent visual image. The last thing you want is for your ideal client to get a big disconnect with they follow you from your Facebook page to your LinkedIn profile to your blog. If at all possible you want to create a seamless experience.

And don't forget, your message and participation needs to be consistent too!

I strongly recommend you get professional head shots done every year or so and also have backgrounds designed for your Facebook page, Twitter background, and YouTube Channel as well as custom banners for your blog.
