Podcasting Down and Dirty

Yesterday, on Blogging and Beyond, we talked about podcasting with Debra Simpson of Magic in Words.  Debra is passionate about podcasting and shared some great tips about how to use audio not only for podcasts, but also to add "stickiness" to your website.

Podcasting may sound scary if you're not technically inclined, but it can be done "down and dirty" with very little expense or effort.  Here's how...

You need two, no four, things.  Aside from a telephone and a computer, which I'm assuming you have since you're reading this, you also need an account with AudioAcrobat, and a blog.

SavvyBizCast: Dr. Charles Parker

The first interview in our new podcast, Savvy Biz Cast, is now available on the blog.

Savvy Biz Cast, The Blog Squad's new podcast, features interviews with professionals about online successes and challenges with leveraging new technologies and the Internet to build business.

"I got the idea for Savvy Biz Cast while working with a group of 100 business professionals in our Blogging and Beyond mentor group," said Denise Wakeman of The Blog Squad.

"Most marketing podcasts are interviews with Internet gurus and experts. I wanted to hear from real people who hadn't made it yet, but who are learning new tools and not afraid to jump onto the so-called Web 2.0 bandwagon."

The interviews are ten to fifteen minutes, and each professional describes their business, how they are using the Internet, what is working for them and what is most challenging. Each describes where he or she wants to go with their online marketing, and what is necessary to take their business to the next level.

Marketing Podcast Coming Soon

We've been working on a new project: a marketing podcast with the focus on how savvy professionals are using the web to market their business.

We've been conducting 10-15 minute interviews with the participants in our Blogging and Beyond mentor group.  Their businesses are varied, from products to services, and they all face similar, yet different challenges in getting the word out.

Currently you can subscribe on iTunes, and soon I'll be posting the audio here as well if you prefer to listen on line.  We'll also be submitting the podcast to all the directories if there is another podcast directory you prefer.
