Biz Tips Blog is TypePad Featured Blog Today!

I'm thrilled to say that this blog is the TypePad Featured Blog today! Coincidentally, it's also  my third blogiversary. I started this blog in September 2004 after my partner Patsi Krakoff started CoachEzines on September 4, 2004. The purpose was to publish my Next Level Biz Tips and there are now over 1000 posts on subjects ranging from Internet Marketing to Marketing Trends, Affiliate Marketing, MySpace and much more.

With so much content, it's hard to say where to start. I've been browsing through three years of posts and decided probably the best place is with our series on 6 Steps for Successful Online Marketing for Your Business. You can also browse through dozens of tips in the Next Level Biz Tips category.

Gmail Video Spreads the Love

Last month the folks at Google and Gmail invited their Gmail fans to produce videos showing how Gmail travels the world.  They received 1,100 video entries and have created one video with clips from many of the very creative clips. You can also see a map showing where all the clips came from.

I'm a Gmail fan and have been using it since it was first available by invitation only.  I love the message threading, color coding of the discusions, the filters and labeling. I have all my email accounts redirected to my gmail account so I can access my email online anywhere, anytime.

1000 posts

Yesterday, a milestone passed.  I published the 1000th post on this blog which I started in September 2004.

Build a Better Blog has 932 posts.

Blogging and Beyond has 130 posts

Slim People (my personal blog) has 413 posts

Patsi and I have a few other pass-protected client blogs all of which have several hundred posts on them. 

The result of all this blogging? More opportunities, a new business, lots of jv projects, a three times increase in revenue, lots of great new friends, a huge amount of learning, and lots of fun.

Spotlight on Blogs and Ezines

Books, Blogs and Renewal

This afternoon I'm leaving for Santa Barbara, a two hour drive up the coast, for a weekend retreat for the Society of Childrens Book Writers and Illustrators.  The Blog Squad are featured speakers about how to use a blog to promote your book.  The theme of the conference is cyber promotion for authors.

The ironic thing is that the conference location is the Old Santa Barbara Mission Renewal Center, where there is no Internet connection.  So what's a girl to do when you're presenting about an Internet application?

Why use screen cast videos of course. And of course Patsi and I will just have to use our charming personalities to convey the positive impact a blog can have on an author's marketing efforts.

This will be an intimate gathering of about 25 authors so I expect it will be not only a good opportunity to spread the blogging gospel, but a relaxing weekend as well in a beautiful, peaceful place.
